Specialised birding trips in Southern Africa

using Victoria Falls, Zambia, as a starting point
for a few days to a few weeks.

Bob has thirty-five years birding experience
throughout eastern and central Africa, plus
sorties into Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia,
Somalia, and South Africa.

Up to four people, travelling in a swift and comfortable modern Landrover, with lightweight camping and cooking facilities. An assistant will travel with us to help set up camp, cook, and guard. He is also an excellent bird spotter.

Mobility and flexibility is of the essence ; exclusively camping helps to avoid the necessity of keeping to a schedule of hotel bookings. Trips are tailored to suit requirements, but some standard itineraries are offered. One would expect some 3 – 4,000 km to be covered in a three week safari.

Price

US$150 per day, plus US$50 per head. This includes fuel, food, and camping – if lodges are used these are extra. Maximum 4 per vehicle, if more than 4, an additional vehicle will be supplied at the same rates.
Area to be covered anywhere within reach. There will be a charge of 50c per km if distance surpasses 4 000 km. Political situation is a limiting factor for the moment for access into Angola, Congo, Ruanda or Burundi. But Zambia is an exceptionally stable and friendly country.
